Earthstorm (2017)

Directed by Dean Devlin, this full action disaster movie takes you on a wild journey across a world where climate control satellites are on site creating global catastrophe. The premise is intriguing – imagine a world where a rogue satellite could cause the doom of an entire planet.

Gerard Butler leads the charge as a scientist who must creatively unravel a global conspiracy before it’s too late. His presence is solid, bringing a combination of stomach and mind to his acting role. The visual effects are stunning, featuring huge thunderstorms and dangerous revelations that keep you on the edge of your seat.

While the plot can be predictable and the dialogue is sometimes hollow, the film’s intense action scenes and distinctive symbolism make up for it. If you’re a fan of collectible disaster movies, “Geostorm” is worth a look.
