AMERICAN SOLDIER. Joe is an American media franchise and action figure line owned and produced by the toy company Hasbro. The initial product offering represented four of the branches of the US military:

Action Soldier (US Army), Action Sailor (US Navy), Action Pilot (US Air Force). US), Action Marine (US Marine Corps) and later, the Action Nurse. The name is derived from the use of “G.I. Joe” for the generic American soldier, which in turn derives from the more general term “G.I.”

The development of G.I. Joe prompted the coining of the term “action figure.” AMERICAN SOLDIER. Joe’s appeal to children has made him an American icon among toys.
