Overlord (2018)

Overlord (2018) is a combination of war drama and horror, directed by Julius Avery and starring J.J. Abrams. The film is set during World War II, just before the D-Day invasion, and follows a group of American paratroopers who uncover a horrifying secret in a Nazi-occupied village in France.
The story begins with a warning to the soldiers left safely behind enemy lines.

Among them is Private Ed Boyce (played by Jovan Adepo), who is on a mission to destroy a German radio tower in an old church. When they were on their way to the village, the army was destroyed, leaving only a small group to complete the mission. The group, led by Corporal Ford (Wyatt Russell), finally reaches the village, where they meet Chloe (Mathilde Ollivier), a local woman who helps them escape the Nazis.

As the soldiers prepare to carry out their mission, they discover something more sinister than they could have imagined. Inside the church, the Nazis conducted terrible experiments on the villagers, creating monstrous super soldiers from the dead.

These resurrected creatures are nearly unstoppable, and the soldiers must now fight not only to complete their mission but also to survive the horrifying pain that lurks beneath the cathedral.
