Red Planet is a science fiction thriller directed by Antony Hoffman. Set in the mid-21st century, the film follows a team of astronauts on a mission to Mars to investigate a failing terraforming project designed to make the planet habitable for humans.

The crew, including Commander Kate Bowman (Carrie-Anne Moss) and scientist Robby Gallagher (Val Kilmer), faces a series of catastrophic failures that leave them stranded on the hostile Martian surface.

As they struggle to survive, the team discovers that the terraforming process has inadvertently created dangerous life forms.

With limited resources and the clock ticking, they must overcome environmental hazards, malfunctioning equipment, and internal conflicts to find a way back to their spacecraft and return to Earth.
